At Lakecrest, our students were eager to mark a special milestone in the school’s journey, giving rise to the introduction of the House System. Comprising four distinctive houses – Ramea, Brigus, Baccalieu, and Quirpon – this system adds an exciting and inclusive dimension to our school community.
Each house draws its name from a Newfoundland town adorned with a remarkable lighthouse, symbolizing hope, perseverance, and bravery. The lighthouse motif reflects the guiding principles that illuminate our path at Lakecrest.
Throughout the academic year, our houses engage in friendly competition through specially planned assemblies and events. Points are earned by demonstrating random acts of kindness or achieving success in various contests. The house that accumulates the most points by the year’s end earns the honor of a special prize, fostering camaraderie and school spirit among our students.
