Headmasters Message

Lakecrest began as a good idea and since 1993 it has become and impressive reality. The work that began with preliminary meetings so long ago has continued until today with some of the very same parents who attended the initial gatherings. The founding group envisioned a school where students would be challenged to their learning capacity by able and dedicated educators. The tasks that needed to be done to start and sustain an independent school ranged from sophisticated educational and logistical planning to simple but equally necessary jobs like painting and mowing grass. People stepped forward and did what needed to be done. With a tradition of selfless effort like this, it is small wonder that our classrooms today are models of focused learning activities.

There have been challenges and setbacks along the way. Obstacles have been overcome and adaptations made in order to keep moving forward. Many of the faces have changed. Our school photographs in the front hall are a pictorial testament to the growth of the school and its students. The same spirit of resilience and determination that impelled our founding families can be seen in the eyes of our new Kindergartens. That resolve has always been accompanied by a real sense of joy in our school community.  We work hard and we still have a great deal of fun. From quizzes to crazy hair day, from projects to musical productions, we do everything at Lakecrest with purpose and enthusiasm.

We have much to be thankful for as we enter the second decade of Lakecrest's existence. To those who helped form the beginnings of the school and have now moved on we offer our sincere gratitude. To the families who have been with us for a while and then relocated to different parts of the world, we thank you for being part of the Lakecrest family. To the people who remain, we express our appreciation for your confidence in us. To those generations of students and teachers to come, we welcome you. Join us in carrying on a tradition of excellence that has made Lakecrest a school that can take its place with pride among the finest in our nation
